Scheme of Examination

II	General Studies-II (CSAT)	100	200	2 hours

Both papers are objective type & multiple choice with OMR answer sheets.
Paper-I: 150 questions (9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.). Paper-II: 100 questions (2:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.).
Paper-II is a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
It is mandatory to appear in both papers for the purpose of evaluation.
Merit is determined on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-I of the Preliminary Examination.
Candidates are expected to have general awareness about the above subjects with special reference to Uttar Pradesh.

History of India — broad understanding of the social, economic and political aspects of Indian History.
Indian National Movement — synoptic view of the nature and character of the freedom movement.
Growth of nationalism and attainment of Independence.

India and World Geography — Physical, Social and Economic geography of India and the World.
Questions on the Geography of India relate to its Physical, Social and Economic Geography.
In World Geography only a general understanding of the subject is expected.

General Issues on Environmental ecology — that do not require subject specialization.
Bio-diversity.
Climate Change.

General appreciation and understanding of Science.
Matters of every day observation and experience, as may be expected of a well educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline.
